My home has a 18 year old HVAC system in the attic. Has anyone in the community ever had to replace a HVAC at this point or is it better to service it if say the labor and materials would cost $2500 or above? At this point I don’t know what the problem is yet but a tech is about to visit because I called them because my heater stopped working last night but I noticed a whiff of something burning as early as yesterday morning around the house but I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. Now I suspect that it must’ve come from the attic.
